DT Day with Treasure Box Designs

Hi, Sue from Sue's Paper Crafts here, today is my day to show off what I made with my file from this month's sponsor Treasure Box Designs.

They have some really cute SVG's, but I just had to use this cute skunk gift box.

When my son was young I was a sewer, I did tons of sewing and one day when he was napping I decided to give a stuffed animal pattern I had on hand a try. The only one I had the correct colors for was the skunk so I whipped up a stuffed skunk.

When David woke up from his nap and saw the skunk sitting on the edge of the table he grabbed him, named him, "Mr. Skunk" and never let go of him. It became a bit of a family joke embarrassing his older brother and sister to no end.

I'm going to visit David and his beautiful wife Miki in April, they live in Tokyo (NO....I'm not a BIT excited about this new adventure in my life I've been to Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas but never overseas) I am going to buy some Arizona instant lottery tickets to tuck into the skunk box and give to David when I arrive in Tokyo.

This little guy was super easy to cut and assemble. The file is a girl skunk but I switched a couple of things around and made a male skunk. I used blue papers instead of pink and left off the little piece for the hair and the pink flower.

Come and join in this month's fun over at Connie Can Crop for our Anything Goes Challenge. This month's prize is from Treasure Box Designs.

Fairy Shelly by Marji

No automatic alt text available.

Hello, today is my day to share with you a project from our wonderful sponsor.
The file I chose is called Fairy Shelly.

I made her a tad larger than my card, which I turned into a twisted easel.
Isn't' she adorable? I just love her.
This is what the card looks like when open. I created a fun beach scene inside and used a gorgeous bow as the easel prop.

Tic Tac Christmas Boxes

It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today!  I'm glad to be here and I'm glad you're here, too!

When Christmas rolls around, I love to share a little sweet treat to those people with whom I interact on a daily basis.  Those to whom I wouldn't necessarily give a gift, but I want them to know I appreciate them as they:
  • check me out at the food store (we always look for the same person as she's always got a smile on her face)
  • handle my deposit at the bank drive-through (and sends out a treat for Katy even when she's not with me)
  • sell me my lottery tickets and wish me luck (that never seem to be winners, but I still appreciate the effort)
  • retrieve my prescriptions (and there are a lot of them)
and there are many more who impact my life in a positive way.

Since putting a Tic Tac in your mouth gives you a "bang out of life" (isn't that how the jingle goes?), I thought giving them one with a decorative cover would "give 'em more bang for the buck".  Excuse me for mixing my metaphors here.

I used the Tic Tac Christmas Boxes file from our sponsor, Treasure Box Designs.  They have such cute designs!  If you want to take a closer look at what they have to offer, here's the store. And, if you want to get inspiration on a regular basis, join their Facebook page here.

I made five of the six designs provided in the file.

http://katydidcards.com/craft-gallery/nggallery/crafts/Tic-Tac-Christmas-Boxes

If you click on the image, you'll be transported to the gallery for a close-up of each box.  Which is your favorite?  I think mine is the Snowman.

For those of you who sell your handmade crafts at shows and boutiques, this would be a great idea to try.  A sheet of 12 " x 12" patterned paper will net you four boxes.  I tried so hard to get the fifth box on that page but it just wouldn't fit.  All the other elements can be cut from scrap card stock, so the only other expense is that of the Tic Tac Boxes themselves.  I found them for a dollar each but didn't really do a lot of searching.  If you like this idea, Treasure Box Designs also has another file with eight other boxes for various occasions and events.  I've made a few other things in the past which are quick and easy to make for a craft show.  Here's one example. And another.

Hello everyone!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.

As you may have seen already, our sponsor this month is Treasure Box Designs

If you look at the adorable paper piecing designs from Treasure Box, you will immediately see the adorable faces which bring these pieces to life.

Well, I have a treat for you today.  This video is by Dina St. Laurent, artist and owner of Treasure Box Designs.  Who better to watch to learn how to do this?

Dina makes this look easy, but I'm still a work in progress.  Practice makes perfect, though, and I can't think of better files to work with than Treasure Box Designs.

It's time to get schooled!

As you may or may not know I am in the process of an unexpected move. So my project I wanted to create did not quite happen!
I wanted to create a special back to school gift for one of my dearest friend Sherry Weber, who just happens to be an amazing 5th grade teacher! She was my son's teacher at Kathy Binks. That's how we met! I just adore her!! She loves to decorate her classroom with crafty bright projects and I wanted to make one she include. So it's not made yet but here is a photo of what I plan to make her when I am unpacked and settled in.

I did manage to create a simple layout of my son's second favorite teacher at Kathy Binks!
Miss Dawson was perfect for our first experience in public school. Jacob was pretty scared to start a new school after daddy lost his job. But Miss Dawson made everything ok! He really loved her as did I. Great teachers make all the difference in the world!

Finally I want to give a shout out to my favorite teacher from High School many moons ago!
Mr. Chappel was awesome!! I still remember him like it was yesterday! He made science so much fun! I still have an immense love for science and I really think Mr Chappel contributed to it!
