YouTube Tuesdays - Nautical Themed Cards

Hi, there!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with another YouTube Tuesday video.  This time I'm taking my cue from Connie's Ships Ahoy Blog Hop this month.  I had such fun making the cards for this hop, I thought I'd find a video with a nautical theme in the hopes that you'll be inspired to come "sail" with us.

I found two videos I liked, so I decided to share both of them with you.  These are simple, but cute and easy to CASE.

This next card is a bit more complicated, but it's really unique and I think it would be a big hit with whoever you send it to.

I hope you enjoyed these and will be inspired to make some cards of your own.  If you do, be sure to let us know and we will share it here.

Don't forget there's still time to enter our monthly challenge.

You can make any project, it just needs to be red, white and blue or have rings/circles.  You have until June 30th at 11:59 pm PST to enter!

Super Dad- PCW Day

Hello my crafty friends!!
This is Connie with Connie Can Crop and I am super excited to be posting as a designer for Paper Crafting World. I am so excited to be able to share these adorable cut and digital files with you.

Now I realize that Father's Day is long gone. But this Cut file doesn't have to be just for Father's Day! I decided to make it for a Birthday card that my boys can give their dad next week! Since my boys are all super hero fans this is perfect!

I used Man of Steel Super Dad Card Cut File and you can find it in the store for only $1.49 right now! You can't see the detail in my photo but the yellow behind Super Dad is embossed. I also added some of red acrylic dots to give it some flair.

Be sure to stop by Paper Crafting World and see all the great files waiting for you!

I can't thank you enough for checking out my project. It means the world to me and I hope you truly enjoyed it. May it inspire you to create something wonderful!   Scrappy Hugs!

Question of the Week

Remember.. I want you to answer the question in the comment section too!
AND
if you have a question to ask for an upcoming week add that in the comments too, if you ask a question and I use it you will win a prize!!

Today's GREAT question comes from Jean Bullock.....
I have been wondering how crafters manage to bring their supplies with them when they fly. I have read that liquid things and anything that could be used as a weapon are not allowed. Obviously craft knives and tool in one products etc could be used in that way. Is that only for carry-on luggage or does that apply to ALL luggage?

Angela- I don't ever travel and bring craft stuff...I don't have any local friends that craft nor do I have any when I go home to NY (well my former home!). I just craft on my own!
Veronica – When I travel, I do bring my to-go craft bag and some other supplies. I bring small quantities, and a skinny paper trimmer, but I bring it in my regular luggage. In my carry-on I put some WOTG paper packs, which might be heavier.

Kim- I don't travel with craft supplies...in fact, I don't travel at all. But if I did need to get craft supplies from Point A to Point B, I think I would look into shipping them. I'd actually feel my stuff would be safer than way than in the hands of TSA if I packed all the stuff in a suitcase to be checked.

Connie- I actual travel with craft supplies all the time. My stuff has gone on cruises, and flown to Florida, Colorado, and Utah. It's really pretty easy if you ask me. All of the sharp objects like scissors, tools, and trimmers go in my checked luggage. My liquid adhesives too (in ziplock baggies). But the rest of my projects, markers, and such go in my smallest suit case that fits in the over head carry on compartment. That way I know my papers and photos are not getting damaged under the plane. I have never lost anything and have never had anything break. And then I can work on my projects while on vacation when I have a break!

Okay, it's your turn to answer!!
Jean...be sure to contact me for your prize!!

Sketchy Saturday

Hello, this is Veronica from Vicky's Scrapping Passion sharing with this sketch I found in the web. It is from Everything-about-scrapbooking.com. It is a sample from this book:  63 Double-Page Scrapbook Sketches.

When I saw this sketch, I thought immediately about Connie's challenge this month, because you can use circles to participate in Let the Freedom ring besides or instead of using red, white and blue.

I hope you enjoy this sketch and decide to use it, please comment with a link to your page for us to compliment your work.

Design Team: God bless the USA layout

Hi Scrappers,
This is Veronica from Vicky's Scrapping Passion show my latest creation for Connie's Let Freedom Ring challenge:

I used Miss Kate Cuttables' God bless the USA title SVG File, to make a title for the second page of a double page layout I designed for this challenge:

I added some dimension using liquid glass (CTMH) and I also used the Artbooking CTMH cart (which you can get from Connie here) to make the picture frames and to design my whole double layout. Papers are also from CTMH. I used the negative cuts from the hot-air balloon stars randomly to add some extra interest.

A closer look to my title. I wasn't very careful with the glue, but I still got the dimension:

many blessings,

I hope you enjoy my scrapbooking page and decide to join this month's challenge:

YouTube Tuesday -Patriotic Projects

It's Kim from Katydid Cards here with another YouTube Tuesday video.  I know...it's Monday, but sometimes that's just how the scheduling works!

Whether you call it 4th of July, Independence Day or July 4th, it’s time to get ready for festivities ranging from barbecues and family gatherings, to parades, concerts and fireworks.  I have a video for you today with all sorts of crafts you can make for your events:

I can't believe how comfortable this young man is in front of the camera and how enthusiastic he is about crafts...perhaps next generation's Tim Holtz?

If you happen to like Tanner Bell's video and would like to see more, here's his website.

I hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to make one or all of them yourself.  And if you do, you can enter your project(s) in our monthly challenge:

You can make any project but is has to be red, white and blue or include rings/circles.  You have until June 30th at 11:59 pm PST to enter.
